Cathedral, n. from Greek cata-, tending to reverse or degenerate, and hedra, the face of a geometrical solid; hence an institution dedicated to denial of the obvious in favour of fairy-tales.
Private, adj. from Middle English prien, to peer or spy; hence that part of a person's life which is worthy of being pried into.
