We're all in it together hereabouts
Because the times are getting jolly tough.
We all must work to keep the proper snouts
And proper trotters in the proper trough.

In spite of all those poor on whom I've stamped,
I really do not mean to be unkind;
It's just that my philanthropy is cramped
From living in this charming little mind.
