Defending His Castle

A man whose business failed and who shot his mother dead when the bailiffs came to call has been jailed for life. The judge called it a "highly unusual and tragic case". So far, nobody has described it as an indication of the violent propensities of middle-aged white male gun collectors, or as an indictment of our broken society; nor has there been much talk of the pernicious influence of property or the need for bailiffs to use tact and restraint when making people homeless.
