Cometh the Man

Moisture provision profiteers hoping to keep Thames Water out of the hated public sector have naturally resorted to a former New Labour flunkey as their figurehead. Baron Hutton of Furness spent the fag-end of the Blairite régime as Minister for Workfare and Privation, Minister for Post-ministerial Sinecure and Minister for Wog-Bombing; which roles have presumably provided him with all necessary experience in taking money away from the plebs and throwing it at private companies. Acquaintance with the wog-bombing business may also have introduced him to the delights of chemical and biological warfare: both rather pertinent to a career with a major British water company. When New Labour was expunged from office his lordship patriotically joined an American nuclear power corporation, but was unable to lobby on its behalf for a year and spent the interval advising the Bullingdon Club and its Liberal Democrat accomplices on eroding public sector pensions. For the past four years he has been a directive non-executioner in a subsidiary of an Israeli weapons manufacturer; and since 2024 he has chaired an association of profiteers from his government's PFI boondoggle, which has done so much to improve the nation's schools, hospitals, housing and military. He is clearly quite the catch.
