Britain Deserves Punctual Slaves
Slavery and human trafficking are vocally disapproved of by His Majesty's Government, but worse is the sin of treating wealthy and powerful criminals as if the law applied to them. Hence the new immigration and asylum bill looks set to contain all the British decency one would expect, with all appropriate safeguards to protect His Majesty's Government against any obligation to prosecute. Victims will be required to come forward within a specified time-frame, and to keep their story straight without allowing it to resemble anyone else's story, on pain of being disbelieved and chastised by the Ministry for Domestic Robustitude. The resemblance clause in particular is an exemplary stroke of prudence, as it will help to reduce what a spokesbeing called improper use of the system; or in Standard English, to reduce the prospect of any action being taken against the most prolific and best organised abusers, who are also the ones most likely to number Ministers of the Crown among their business interests.
