Since viewings of the Bayeux Tapestry have to be strictly rationed in order to minimise damage from the light, the Osborne Museum of Britishness has naturally chosen to put on a free show for an apocalyptic preacher and squillionaire Trumpster string-puller. Alongside his support for divine illumination and fluorescent orange tribblemobiles, Peter Thiel is the founder of Palantir, the company charged by His Majesty's Government with the sacred mission of converting the National Health Service into a profit-making data farm. Thiel's access to the tapestry was apparently purchased with no financial contribution to the museum, which throws an intriguing light on Osborne's continuing fiscal competence; and given that Osborne is an acolyte of Margaret Thatcher, whose defining economic policy was the sale of things that didn't belong to her, it is to be hoped that the French security forces are not too distracted by the pleasures of migrant-bashing to keep an eye on things.
