Bad Etymology

Honour, n. elided form of one of ours; by extension, the psychological or ceremonial reward bestowed on allies too powerful to offend and servants who exceed the rank of dupe.

Knight, n. from Old English cniht, a servant; hence the military vassal of a mediaeval monarch, therefore a title bestowed in modern times on those who do most to keep the peasantry in line.
